Speaker Bio
Mark Rounds has taught for San Diego County's Juvenile Court Schools since 1999. During that time he had pushed the envelope in using technology as a tool to reach students that mainstream educational institutions disregard. Mark has worked as an English teacher at a boarding school for foster teens, a Blended Independent Study teacher for 7th-12th graders on probation and expelled from their home districts, and a technology resource teacher, working as a tech-evangelist to fellow teachers. Currently, Mark works at The Monarch School, a comprehensive K12 for homeless students in downtown San Diego. He is the lead teacher in the Career and Technical Education Academy working hand-in-hand with teens impacted by homelessness to help them find creative ways squash their familial cycles of poverty and create new legacies. Mark also adjuncts for Azusa Pacific University, working alongside teachers attaining their Master’s Degree in Digital Teaching and Learning.
